EDI data collection and publication

EDI data collection and publication

As part of our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion we will be regularly publishing EDI data as part of the Medical Workforce Race Equality Standard (MWRES) with data published annually.

The data

The objective of the Equality Research Project is to better understand the diversity of the College membership and leadership positions and publish our findings. Fundamental to this work is collating and reviewing data that will be able to drive better decision making and change within the College and the specialty of Anaesthesia. The also College works closely with the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and NHS England on the Medical Workforce Race Equality Standard (MWRES) which aims to increase fairness and parity in medicine by analysing and benchmarking across a number of standards and indicators.

As part of our commitment to the MWRES the RCoA, FICM and FPM have agreed to work together to openly publish the diversity of our respective Councils and Boards aligned to the MWRES categories.

The Board of Trustees has ultimate responsibility for overseeing and monitoring EDI in the College. The Board of Trustees receives annual reports of this data displayed in this standardised format, as well as a full breakdown of data for the full membership – including Anaesthetists in Training.

The information below will be updated annually.
