Launched in 2022, BJA Open is the Open Access sister journal of BJA. Even though the journal is only in its third year of publication it has achieved major milestones including indexing by PubMed Central and Scopus. An application to the Emerging Sources Citation Index has been submitted: if this is successful BJA Open will receive an Impact Factor.
