National Clinical Leaders in Anaesthesia Executive Recruitment
We have vacancies on the National Clinical Leaders Executive Committee. All members of the Clinical Leaders in Anaesthesia Network are eligible to apply for one of these representative positions. We would particularly welcome applicants from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, to help ensure that the implications of policy decisions in different healthcare environments are taken into account.
About the National Clinical Leaders Executive Committee
The RCoA’s Clinical Leaders in Anaesthesia Network & its Executive Committee have been established for many years and is supported by the RCoA’s Clinical Quality team. The Clinical Leaders in Anaesthesia Network & its Executive Committee organises the regular national and regional Clinical Director’s meetings, as well as a joint meeting with Regional Advisors.
Members of the Executive Committee are nominated to represent Clinical Directors on a significant number of RCoA committees and the Board of the Association of Anaesthetists. The Committee responds to consultations when requested by the President and advises RCoA Council on the impact to anaesthesia, pain medicine and ICM of RCoA and national policies. In addition, the Executive Committee helps to maintain and encourage development of the Clinical Leaders in Anaesthesia Network.
About the role
As a member of the Executive Committee you will promote and encourage information sharing and good practice between clinical leaders in UK NHS Departments of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Management. Through the work of the committee, you will ensure that the voice of clinical leaders is heard within the College.
The time commitment for Executive Committee members is mainly limited to email correspondence amounting to approximately 1 hour a week, with attendance at the national meetings, 3-4 Executive Committee Meetings per year (usually carried out by teleconference) and representation at 1-2 RCoA meetings per year.
