We hope this last print issue of the Bulletin provides many opportunities to feel inspired today and beyond the 75th anniversary of the NHS.

Welcome to the October Bulletin 2022. We are really excited to be launching our new Digital Bulletin. This month is our Research Edition, packed with features, editor's picks, opinion pieces, and newsworthy topics. We hope you enjoy the new Digital Bulletin experience.

Adapting to change is the theme for this year's training issue. As always, the issue is packed with the usual great mix of features, opinions and guidance. You'll also get to meet our new editorial board anaesthetist in training members and we have a new feedback form.

Dr Elisa Bertoja, Chair of the RCoA CQ&R Board, takes on the role of guest editor for this year's research-themed issue. We hope you enjoy reading this issue as much as we've enjoyed putting it together.

The start of a new year is often a time to look to the future and the new challenges ahead. Amid this newness, we also take the time to look back, to learn from and reflect on the lessons of our past. We hope you enjoy the first issue of 2025.

This issue, as is traditional for autumn, focuses on research and innovation. We highlight several forward-thinking initiatives from equitable recruitment to sustainable healthcare.
