Quality Network Prep Stop Block Survey
In January 2023, the College's Quality Network launched a national survey around the “Prep, Stop, Block” initiative. Prep Stop Block was created in 2021 to enhance the message of Stop Before You Block (SBYB) and standardise national regional anaesthetic practice, aiming to reduce the incidence of inadvertent wrong side block. It was launched with a training package and supporting resources.
The Network had two main aims with this project:
- To assess the links within the Quality Network between regional leads and local QI leads.
- To gather valuable information on an important national patient safety initiative.
A report, downloadable below, has been produced demonstrating the findings of the survey. Thank you to the local and regional QI leads who participated in the survey.
Quality Network
The Quality Network aims to share successes and lessons learned from quality improvement work, help fellows and members to develop their QI knowledge and increase their confidence to undertake improvement projects.
