Postgraduate career
Was sequentially (1926-8) casualty officer, house surgeon, house physician & resident anaesthetist at St George’s. For the next two years his address was c/o a bank in Jersey with no appointments recorded, but by 1931 he was anaesthetist to St George’s, Golden Sq ENT, and Miller (Greenwich) Hospitals. From 1933 his only affiliation was as anaesthetist at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, but he was also at St George’s again in 1936, joining its honorary staff in 1938. He served in the RAMC during WW2 (rising to the rank of Major), returning to his civilian appointments after the war, but adding the Royal Masonic Hospital. He retired in his early 70s.
Professional interests and activities
His only publication was on spinal anaesthesia.
