Professor Mikel Grocott re-appointed as an NIHR Senior Investigator
Professor Mike Grocott has been re-appointed as a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigator. Professor Grocott was one of 25 renewals and will be joined by 30 new appointments. He is the only anaesthetists who is on the list this year and one of only four who have ever been appointed. They work alongside 8 Senior Investigators from Intensive Care Medicine of which two were appointed this year (Professor Kathy Rowan and Professor Paul Dark)
NIHR Senior Investigators represent NIHR’s most prominent and prestigious researchers and are critical to the development of research capability and capacity to improve the future health of the nation.
Professor Grocott said:
“I am delighted to have been re-appointed as an NIHR Senior Investigator. I am privileged to be chosen and very excited for what we can achieve through improving the care of patients receiving Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Critical Care over the next four years. I would also like to congratulate the other appointments and look forward to working with them.”
