Paediatric imaging under general anaesthetic

The RCoA is pleased to announce the publication of Paediatric Imaging under General Anaesthetic. The RCoA worked with the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists, the Association of Anaesthetists, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Royal College of Radiologists, as well as parent representatives, to develop this consensus statement on best practice for requesting, vetting and consent for non-invasive diagnostic procedures under general anaesthesia in children and young people. This addresses the safety recommendation made to the RCoA in the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB) report titled Undiagnosed Cardiomyopathy in a Young Person with Autism.
