Professional life and career
Postgraduate career
The Medical Directories reflect his appointment as Consultant Anaesthetist at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow from 1953. He remained in that post until his retirement in 1974.
Professional interests and activities
Throughout the 1960s and until 1972 he was on the Board management of the British Journal of Anaesthesia. He was Hon. Secretary-Treasurer of the Scottish Society of Anaesthetists (SSA) for 1953-57 and President for 1965-66. In June 1965 he led a visit of the SSA to hospitals and laboratories in Denmark and Sweden.

In retirement he lived in Helensburgh. He was survived by his wife Norah Margaret Kinnear and a son.
