
David Hunt is responsible for the delivery and assurance of core digital, data, technology, and related functions at the Royal College of Anaesthetists, operating at both strategic and implementation levels.
His role centres on three key areas:
- ensuring the security and fitness for purpose of the College’s digital, data, and technology estate
- designing and delivering the College’s digital, data, and technology strategy in alignment with its overall strategic goals
- unifying technology responsibilities across the organisation to ensure cohesive product development, streamlined processes, and efficient operations
Before joining the College in April 2025, David held leadership roles at the Royal Academy of Engineering, the research and support charity Breast Cancer Now, and disability charity Leonard Cheshire.
David also spent over six years living and working in China. During this time, he led a nonprofit supporting rural communities in earthquake-affected regions and later joined an intergovernmental organisation focused on poverty relief, based in Beijing.
He holds a PhD in applied mathematics and was named one of the 100 most influential people in digital and technology by the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) in 2023.
