Carly Melbourne

Carly was appointed Interim Director of Clinical Quality & Research in October 2025. She leads the College’s work on patient safety, accreditation, guidance, quality improvement, research, perioperative care and patient and public involvement.

Carly joined the College in 2007 and has held a range of positions during this time including within the Training department before moving into the Clinical Quality & Research Directorate. Carly enjoys the variety of the workload, bringing together the functions that oversee quality assurance, patient safety, and research activity across the organisation.
