Biography

Dr Rosie Hogg is a consultant anaesthetist based at the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust.  After graduating from the University of Leeds she completed her anaesthesia training in Northern Ireland. She was awarded a postgraduate MD from Queens University Belfast following research focused on patient-centred outcomes & regional anaesthesia and spent a year as visiting faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 2014.

Her clinical and academic interests include the development & integration of perioperative point of care ultrasound & the use of regional anaesthesia in the improvement of perioperative outcomes.  She publishes regularly in peer-reviewed journals and lectures at numerous local, national and international conferences.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she currently holds the position of Anaesthesia Advisor to the Northern Ireland Department of Health advising on the transformation of elective care.  She is the Vice-Chair of the Northern Ireland Board for the Royal College of Anaesthetists and is a member of the standing committee for the RCOA 8th National Audit Project, which will focus on complications of regional anaesthesia.

She is a passionate advocate for flexible working for parents and caregivers, in particular those with an interest in research or healthcare policy development and spends her spare time with her wonderful young family.
