RCoA and FICM respond to enFlow IV fluid warming device health alert

The Royal College of Anaesthetists and Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine are closely monitoring the situation regarding Vyaire’s announcement on 13 March 2019 of their product recall of the enFlow® Fluid Warming System Disposable Cartridges. This follows the alert raised by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency on 8 March 2019.

The Association of Anaesthetists has issued a statement on this issue, which we support and we would refer all members and fellows to the MDA and Field Safety Notice (FSN) for background information and recommended action.

The College and the Faculty stand ready to work with all interested organisations once investigations have been completed.
