Simulation Advisory Group and Network

The College's Simulation Advisory Group (formerly Simulation Leads) provides leadership for, and promotes strategic and operational development of, the application of simulation to education, training and safe practice in Anaesthesia.

Simulation network meetings are opportunities for educators, learners and technicians involved in simulation-based practice to exchange ideas, discuss best practice, and contribute to the future of simulation in anaesthesia.

We are redeveloping this key work for the College, and the support our Advisory Group and Network provides. We will update this page as that work evolves.

Simulation Advisory Group members are listed below, with their regions or remits shown. For more information about the advisory group and network and and the College's work in simulation, or to be put in touch with an advisory group member, email us at simulation@rcoa.ac.uk

We do not pay our Simulation Advisory Group members, but evidence of activity in the group role can be used to support sign off in educational domains on the Lifelong Learning Platform. Advisory Group members can get discounted membership of ASPiH as part of the RCoA Institutional Membership arrangement.

We host occasional meetings of the Advisory Group and a broader Simulation Network, which is open to all.

December 2024 Simulation Network Meeting

The first RCoA Simulation Network Meeting was held online and hosted by Dr Cristina Diaz-Navarro and Dr Ed Mellanby on 11 December 2024. The meeting included discussions of new guidance around the role of simulation in anaesthetic training, collaboration opportunities, and more. Watch the recording of the webinar below.
