Celebrating European Languages Day
The European Citizens Staff Group at the RCoA marked European Languages Day on Sunday 26 September by recording a video of themselves speaking in their mother tongues. The friendly and informal group celebrate the cultural diversity of Europe, as well as considering the impact of Brexit on College Staff. In a recent internal staff survey, 80 per cent of respondents indicated that they speak more than one language and, to date, 12 different languages are spoken by College staff.
As well as recognising the diversity of the College workforce, we want to take the opportunity to celebrate the contribution of EU anaesthetists to the NHS.
We hope you enjoy the video we have created and distributed across our social media channels. We would love to hear from you too, speaking in your mother tongue, be it European or further afield – why not give it a try and record your own video, and share it with us across social media.
