Professor Ramani Moonesinghe OBE appointed Deputy National Medical Director

Professor Ramani Moonesinghe OBE has been appointed Deputy National Medical Director  for NHS England. 

Commenting on the appointment, Dr Claire Shannon, President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, said:  

“Congratulations to Professor Ramani Moonesinghe on her appointment as Deputy National Medical Director. An anaesthetist, intensivist and perioperative care specialist, Ramani has been a valued part of our College throughout her distinguished career.

“She has served as a Council Member and as Director of our Health Services Research Centre (now the Centre for Research and Improvement), making a significant contribution to advancing our specialty, improving patient care and championing our members.

“A highly accomplished academic and respected leader across medicine, Ramani brings exceptional expertise in improving patient outcomes. We are confident this will serve her well in her new role and extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes.”
