GPAS Perioperative Care chapter: public consultation open
The Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) is pleased to announce that the public consultation is open for the draft Guidelines for the Provision of Anaesthesia Services (GPAS) for the Perioperative Care of Elective and Urgent Care Patients chapter.
GPAS supports anaesthetists with responsibilities for service delivery and assists healthcare managers to design and deliver high quality anaesthetic services. It is developed using a rigorous, evidence-based process, and was accredited by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in 2016.
The RCoA published the GPAS Preoperative Assessment and Preparation chapter, GPAS Intraoperative Care chapter and GPAS Postoperative Care chapters in 2016. As part of the NICE reaccreditation process, the decision was made to amalgamate and review these three chapters which now form the GPAS for the Perioperative Care of Elective and Urgent Care Patients chapter.
The public consultation will close on 23 February at 5pm.
