Updated College guidance on supporting information for revalidation

In March 2018 the GMC published updated guidance on supporting information for appraisal and revalidation. There is no significant change to the supporting information required by the GMC for a positive revalidation, recommendation are as follows:

  • continuing professional development
  • quality improvement activities
  • significant events
  • feedback on your practice from patients or those to whom you provide medical services, and from colleagues
  • review of compliments and complaints.

The GMC's guidance recommends that doctors in specialist practice should consult the specific information provided by their College or Faculty and the updated RCoA version is available here. It amplifies the headings provided by the GMC and gives additional detail about their requirements followed by updates from the College and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, and information on available resources.
