Guidance, help and advice on the procurement of goods and services at the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

The College will procure goods and services that are value for money, but also considers the reputation, experience, and financial integrity of prospective suppliers.

The Royal College of Anaesthetists is not a contracting authority for the purposes of EU public procurement regime as implemented by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended).

We are a member of the London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) which is a not-for-profit professional buying organisation, owned by its members, for its members. LUPC exists to generate savings and better value through the collaborative procurement of goods and services.

Current opportunities

This means that the contract is currently unfulfilled but active, and we are looking for potential suppliers to contact us with bid applications.

Life Long Learning solution Request for Proposal (RFP)
We are seeking a supplier to provide a new bespoke web-based Life Long Learning platform to support the assessment and learning of trainee and consultant anaesthetists across the UK. The platform seeks to replace and improve current separate e-Portfolio, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and logbook systems.

The proposed solution will allow:

  • Trainees to record assessments, activities, and reflections, and map these to requirements set out by defined curricula.
  • Trainers to be able to monitor trainee progress and provide feedback and sign off assessments.
  • Panels to be set up in order for trainee records to be reviewed by a select group of trainers and for these to be signed off online.
  • Administrators to be able to make as many changes to forms, curricula, user roles/permissions, and workflows without additional supplier support.

This is one of the key projects of the Technology Strategy Programme which is dedicated to reviewing, integrating, replacing or upgrading the range of systems used by members who learn, train and assess. You are invited by The Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) to submit a proposal for the provision of services detailed in the attached documentation. Your proposal must be received by 12 noon on Tuesday, 17 January 2017 via the email account. It is the responsibility of all Prospective Suppliers to ensure that their proposal is received no later than the appointed time. RCoA may undertake not to consider proposals received after that time.
